2011 So Far

5 wide releases have a B average on Metacritic: Bridesmaids (75), Drive (81), Midnight in Paris (81), Rango (75), Harry Potter 8 (87)

The highest number of raves from the 8 critics I pay attention to this year, with 2 points for 100 and 1 for 88-90s (Variety, THR, EW, Time, Travers, Ebert, NYT, LAT): Rango 10, Tree of Life & Meek’s Cutoff 9 (possibly Cave of Forgotten Dreams, as Travers hasn't weighed in)

BFCA: Potter 8 93, Moneyball 92, Drive 91, The Guard 90, Win Win 90, The Help 89, Rango 89

FWIW, some CriticWire averages so far for Tiff films: A- Shame & Take This Waltz; B+ 50/50, Artist, Deep Blue Sea, Descendants, Like Crazy, Martha Marcy May Marlene, Take Shelter; B Damsels in Distress, A Dangerous Method, Ides of March, Melancholia, We Need to Talk About Kevin

The 20 actors I currently find most likely to be Oscar contenders, in order: Viola Davis, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Glenn Close, Christopher Plummer, Elizabeth Olsen, Octavia Spencer, Jean Dujardin, Vanessa Redgrave, Albert Brooks
Gary Oldman, Nick Nolte, Berenice Bejo, Janet McTeer, Keira Knightley, PSH, Ryan Gosling, Viggo Mortensen, John Hawkes, Michael Fassbender
T5 unseen: Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Rooney Mara, Kenneth Branagh, Armie Hammer
Supporting Actor seems the most packed to me, Actress the least.

Relevant technically since he wrote the movie for DiCaprio/Hammer:
